View From In Here Top Posts of 2015…
I’m amazed at how much this site has grown and changed in the last year. How much I’ve grown and changed along with it. A year can make such a huge difference. Looking over View From In Here’s statistics for the year, I was somewhat surprised by the Top posts of 2015, here are the top 10 (actually 11, as there was a tie for 7th place). These posts were read the most frequently, highly interacted with and <hopefully> helpful to readers!
If you’re new to View From In Here there might be a few posts you’ve missed, these are the best of 2015, jump in and check them out. See what everyone else was reading on View From In Here last year.
Last year, I instigated a lot of changes on the blog, I changed themes and direction. Trying to hone in on who I was and what I wanted the blog’s focus to be. It was a huge time of transition. I was still “standing in my own way” at the beginning of the year, I believe I was a roadblock to my own blog and it’s success. The biggest changes took place last March, I finally figured some things out. Coming to the conclusion that I needed to write about things I love, but I also need to write what you come here to read. Changes took place again, big changes.
This is the result, and thanks to you, it was a really good year! Here are the Top Posts of 2015!
Flowers and bonbons to you all!

This post was born of frustration. I feel that we bloggers aren’t utilizing our biggest tool, our comment section, building community. We are all pushing to build our blogs, we get so busy, there are so many hats to wear, aren’t there? Getting too busy to create community? Well, that shouldn’t happen. Ever. This is Part One in the series, and a must read. There were 256 comments left on this post, lots of reaction and conversation is happening around this concept. I’m proud of it’s Number 1 status!
I love Blog Linkups. Love them. I have one. A really great one, if I say so myself. (Actually I have two: #WAYWWOW Linkup and #WAYWOW Social Media Blast) I’ve participated linkups for years, but last year I really began to evaluate how well they were working for me, what I was willing to do and what hoops I wasn’t willing to jump through. Are you jumping through hoops in order to play with other bloggers? How’s it workin’ for you?
Last year The Pinterest Recipe Review was born. And we are having so much fun with it. We choose a recipe from Pinterest and whip it up. If the recipe gets The Hamilton family stamp of approval it will be featured on the blog. Sometimes we make a few changes here and there, to suit our family’s taste, giving you a few different options to try.
This is a great way for me to feature other bloggers and their talents in the kitchen! Each recipe in The Pinterest Recipe Review is excellent, and these Chicken Gyros are the best of the best! I love tzatiki sauce it dresses up anything it’s dolloped on top of! This recipe is quick and easy as well as delish!

When I wrote Part One it wasn’t my intent that this would become a series, but the overwhelming interest in the post pushed me to continue. I have a unique view of community around View From In Here and I hope that others use these techniques to build their own communities. The theory of “Build it and they will come” may work in Field of Dreams, but not for a blog. It takes work, lots of work. Are you putting your efforts into the right things?
Knowing the words I write are being read means more than you know. Watching this series become popular touches me beyond comprehension. This piece was written in June of 2015, halfway into the year, to see it to pop up in the Top 10 reinforces my belief that Our Story needs to be told. There are so many other families going through similar journeys. Mental illness and addiction touch so many of us, we need to find a way to reach out and help each other. I hope my words, Our Story, help you understand those afflicted, empathize with them and their loved ones. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s definitely the most rewarding. Thank you.
Making a series from the first article seems to have been a hit in 2015 and these posts are still being read frequently in 2016. Breaking down blogging to the smallest component, community, is a huge key to success and I’m happy that so many other bloggers are choosing to think about Blog Karma. Give what you want to receive, sow and reap. Blog Karma is one of the phrases I coined last year and it seems to be sticking! Love it!

My memoir, it’s a Love Story…Kinda. I began writing this in 2013 as a way to let go of my past, the guilt for the decisions I had made, so I could move on. We all have things in our past that haunt us and this is mine. While I was moving through the story I was able to let go, hence the title “The Letting Go Series”. I have received emails from readers who have lived similar stories, as they read along they have been able to move forward too. That’s the best, I couldn’t ask for anything more. #livelifebetter is what View From In Here is all about.
Obviously I believe that building community and Blog Karma are exceedingly important, to back up my theory here are tips from the Big Bloggers on the topic. I love seeing what works or worked for them. Success leaves clues, grab on to them, use them and succeed in your own way!

We bloggers love a party! Especially with other bloggers. Linkups are a great way to find each other and help others to find you. We need to evaluate how useful each linkup is for our blogs. This post offers some great tips on linkups and in the #2 Post above I dug a bit deeper on measuring the linkups you participate in.
I seriously love Twitter, it’s quick, fast, to the point. Love it. Except for these 5 things. Please don’t do these 5 things! LOL
I’m excited that my “About Me” page is getting some action. This page has been changed more often than I change my socks! LOL Not really, but close! Writing about personal things i.e. Our Story or Letting Go Series is hard, researching for Blogging posts takes a ton of work. But writing an entire page about yourself, your blog and how it can help others? It’s the most painful thing ever! I rewarded myself with a box of bonbons after completion. Actually, I ate bonbons for sustenance while writing, I finished off the entire box! You may want to read this page ASAP, I’m sure it’ll get another renovation soon!
So, which of these are your favorite posts from 2015?
I love looking back in order to plan for the future, to see what you’ve been reading and what you’d like more of. If there’s something you’d like to see on View From In Here in 2016 give me a shout out below! I write about what I know and love, but in order to help you I need to write what you’re interested in too. Let’s make 2016 another great year, learning and growing together!
Thanks so much for being part of my community, I couldn’t do this without each and every one of you!
BTW, was there a post that you loved in 2015 that didn’t make the cut? Which one?
