Stunning Shots – Delicate Pink Rose
If you’ve been a reader of View From In Here for long you know that I love a delicate pink rose. The bowl shaped flower, packed with petals, is by far my favorite. Cabbage roses or Bourbon roses; they make me swoon. So pretty, intricate and beautifully formed.
I’ve always loved them, but when I began trying to paint them I fell head over heels for these beautiful blossoms. To re-create the form and fullness of a cabbage rose, with paint and a brush, is not an easy task. I worked on them for years. Over and over attempting to use high-light and shading to replicate the layers of petals. It’s not easy.
I became fairly decent, but it’s not easy for me to do. While I worked, rose petal after rose petal, I fell deeper in appreciation for our world. Flowers are so wonderfully made, each one different from the rest. And each one a feast for the eyes.
Cabbage Roses, Bourbon Roses, Old-English Roses. Even a gorgeous full pink Peony. These flowers pull at my heart-strings and fill my heart with joy.
How can you look upon this delicate pink rose and not be stunned by it’s beauty and awed by the world we live in?
