Welcome to View From In Here
View From In Here is a Lifestyle Blog Dedicated to Living Life Better. In all ways. Life can always be better. Check out some of these top posts or click “View From In Here Blog” to be taken to the most recent posts.
This title totally encompasses this site. It’s all about Life and the way I see it. “View From In Here”. We cover a whole lotta ground too. Just like real life.
Blogging: Breaking it down into the ‘reals’. There is so much to this blogging gig. Much more than I ever thought. Blog Karma is the way I work and I hope that my posts help other bloggers do the same.
Decor: Love decorating. Inside, outside. Wherever. The Make Lemonade Shop is an extension of my decor love and artist leanings. I love to change up the look of a room with accessories. And everyone needs a few dozen throw pillows, right?
Food: Kinda crazy, but I love food too. I bet that’s something else we have in common! Since I was diagnosed with an Auto – Immune Disease this had meant a cleaner, healthier diet. And no gluten. Man, I want a beer.
Garden: We love to grow our own food, it’s fun and we know what we’re eating. Our garden is organic an we love to spend time tending it. What is that saying? “The family that grows together…” LOL
This is a really difficult story for me to tell. But it’s necessary. This year we almost lost our son. In fact, he was lost, and it’s a miracle that we were able to find him again. Unbeknownst to us, addiction moved into our home, years ago. We didn’t realize, we had no idea. Addiction was our son’s attempt at disguising his mental illness. He has both, we didn’t know. He decided to quit, life. We didn’t know.
This has become our fight. We are fighting for his life, treatment and help. There are many more families going through this, far more than there should be.
No matter how hard Our Story is to tell, it needs to be heard. We need change. And if we don’t talk, if we don’t listen we are failing. Lives are lost.
So, I’m talking. Will you listen?
It’s a love story…Kind of…
When I was young I made some bad decisions, I think most of us did. The Letting Go series is my attempt to examine my past & figure out why I made those choices. As I work through my past I hope to find a way to forgive myself for the events that occurred. In forgiveness I hope to find healing; perhaps those of you going through painful circumstances will find healing too.
Love, loss, divorce, birth and death.
Finally, I kissed the right frog, or slowed down just enough for my Prince to catch me.
Auto Immune Disease.
A few years ago my life changed drastically.
I got sick. At first we thought I had the flu. Nothing big. I would be better in a few days. But, I never got better.
I have since learned, after a two year struggle for a diagnosis, I have an auto-immune disease, induced by stress. Not only has this disease affected my life, it has affected the lives of my husband & children.
Read all about our journey with Auto-Immune Disease, a disease that I have lovingly named, The Black Cloaked Demon. AKA Hughes Syndrome or Antiphospholipid Syndrome. I like to delve into things that can help us feel better and cope with our Auto-Immune Diseases.
I love blogging. Doing it, researching about it, learning, sharing, evaluating, assimilating. All of it. I have a bit of a different spin on growing your blog, brand, and community. Jump in, sometimes changing the way you look at things can change your entire perspective. About Blogging.

I find a lot of peace, joy & comfort working in the garden. Each spring we plant a vegetable garden & enjoy all of the florals surrounding our home. I love taking pictures to capture the beauty & remind myself, during the long cold winter, that spring is around the corner. Check out our past gardens & see what we are planting this year, In The Garden.
For The Love of Food…
Quick & easy recipes are a must-but they have to be delicious too. Since my Auto-Immune diagnosis I have removed gluten from my diet & find that it helps, immensely. For The Love of Food is full of great tasting, gluten free recipes. Georgia, our daughter, is vegetarian so there are meat free options too.
We are having a blast in the kitchen creating fun, fast & yummy dishes to pass on to you. We taste test everything before publishing. We take it very seriously! LOL! This year the Pinterest Recipe Review was born, we find recipes on Pinterest that look fantastic, test them out as is and fill you in on the changes we made to fit our families preferences.
I have worked in the food industry for more than 30 years, it is in my blood. From the creation of the dish itself, to serving the food and clearing the dishes. I love everything about it. Sprinkled through the blog you’ll find recipes for some adult beverages, fun martinis, a great way to relax and unwind!
Why was ‘View From In Here’ created?
I began blogging in 2010, since that time the blog has evolved quite a bit. I still enjoy sharing things I love but I’m also looking to share my story & help others through the telling.
The blog is all about life and how to enjoy it more. A better life is always the goal, I find it’s a lot more fun for us to do it together.
It’s nice to meet you, thanks for coming along for the ride.
Leave me a comment, send me a message on social media, email me…I’d truly love to get to know you better
There are so many bloggers who share their advice and wisdom about blogging. And I love to read and research all things blog. But I also like to know the “why” of it all. Why I should do something. Why it is needed. Why it’s important. Once I know the why I can apply in a way that’s useful for View From In Here. And I break it down and explain it in a way so that you will be able to take the information and apply to your blog. Whether you are a new or experienced blogger the “why” changes everything.

EMOTIONALLY | Dealing with Life’s Ups & Downs
Nothing is more beautiful to me than a gorgeous flower or vegetable growing in our backyard. Flowers remind me to stop and enjoy the small things. The garden gives life in many ways, through nutrition as well as appreciation for a hard day’s work. Gardening organically for our health and the health of our world.
