I love playing with Decor Ideas
It’s kind of addicting, isn’t it? I’m not sure where I’ve been, but I just found Dot & Bo and Apt 2B. Seriously, where have I been? Under a rock? These sites are full of fun decor ideas. I want one of everything! Really, I do!
(Sadly, since the publishing of this article Dot & Do have closed their doors. I loved their products! Huge bummer. So there are pieces in this post that are no longer available through Dot & Bo, but Apt 2B is going strong. Make sure you check them out. That couch is so swoon worthy!)
I love the idea of being able to change up your decor by swapping out a few pieces. Either seasonally, or “just because”. The Make Lemonade Shop is built upon the premise of changing up your decor, whenever you choose. Mix, match, play with the combinations until you find a style that suits you.
Or at least a style that suits you for now! LOL The pillowcases can be removed and stored, so swap them out on a whim, store them and bring them out again later!

When I saw this couch, the Clark Sofa, at Apt 2B, I knew I wanted to “redecorate” a room with this chartreuse beauty as center stage. Isn’t it a stunner? This couch would transform any room into a fun place to spend time. I smile just looking at it. Don’t you?
The Clark Sofa offers different color fabric options; Pure White, Bark and Hot Cocoa. But I’m a bit partial to the Chartreuse. The sofa is built on a wood frame and it’s also eco-friendly. The fabric covering is resilient and hypo-allergenic. Although this sofa is bright and fun, the style is a classic, making it a great standard piece for any living area.
The Make Lemonade Shop features hand-crafted and hand-painted pillowcases, you can change your decor style by changing your pillow covers. All Pillowcases are “Envelope Style” for easy removal, you can swap them out seasonally, or anytime you have new decor ideas.
I wanted to play around a bit with the Clark sofa from Apt 2B and the Make Lemonade Shop products. This sofa looks great paired with the Pillowcases from the Make Lemonade Shop. I love the look. So fun and colorful. As I was scrolling through Dot & Bo I couldn’t resist the Pina Throw Pillow, it fits in perfectly with the others!
Decor Ideas: Let’s Play.
Window shopping at Apt 2B and Dot & Bo I found accessories to round out and pull the room all together. Artwork, lighting, rugs, chairs, throws. It was so much fun!
Decor Ideas; Lighting
Light fixtures give a room so much character. I have been obsessed with the Waverly Chandelier for the last several years. I’d love to have them over my dining room table, or hung from several locations in the great room. But I haven’t pulled the trigger just yet, I’m really close to doing it right now. I have an extremely healthy fixation with flowers. This chandelier feeds into that fixation and also falls into the clean modern look that I love.
Any of these light fixtures would fit into my decor ideas for this fun and funky room. All of them make me happy.
Decor Ideas: Area Rugs
This is another obsession of mine. I love wood floors, the look and the ease of cleaning. But I also love a soft texture underneath my tootsies. Area rugs add a coziness to a room and they can also be used to add a WOW factor. Like my wardrobe, I love a room to have a neutral background with pops of color for interest.
The Black and White Chevron Rug is my favorite, but Dot & Bo and Apt 2B have a wide range of area rugs, it was really hard for me to choose just one.

Decor Ideas: Artwork
Art can turn any room into a showpiece. This is the area I like to choose pieces with a big personality. Artwork is such a personal thing, grab the pieces that speak to you and convey the feeling you want the room to have. In our home I created several of our artwork pieces, but love to add the work from other artists as well.
The pieces above are all different mediums, but they are fun, exciting and different. Just like the chartreuse sofa. Ranging from vintage prints, blueprints. fine art prints to Giclée each of these pieces of art create interest for your walls. Like a great accessory, or piece of jewelry, does for an outfit. Play with it and have a blast.
Decor Ideas: Accent Chairs
I love a good chair. Preferably one with arms, I like to cuddle up and watch television snuggled into the chair with a great throw. But I also like a chair that makes a statement. Any of these colors; golden, pink lemonade, or orange look sharp up against the chartreuse couch. And the Gerbera or the Chevron patterns are definitely fun pieces that create a statement. I prefer the legs of the furniture, in one room, to be either similar or completely different. These dark wood legs on the chairs and sofa all look great together and the chrome is just different enough to look great.

Decor Ideas: Pulling it all together.
Perhaps you like a calmer decor and cannot fathom all these items together in one room. In order for these pieces to work I would paint the walls white, as well as the trim. The items above are some of my favorites, I love the Waverly Chandelier, one on each side of the sofa would frame the black and white artwork, hung over the back of the couch. The chevron rug would mirror the color combination, in the artwork and chandeliers, while defining the seating area.
The Make Lemonade Shop Floral and Birds pillowcases have the same orange-as the swivel side chair and the chartreuse of the sofa. This was a match made in decor heaven!
Glutton For More Decor
I, of course, couldn’t get enough of Dot & Bo or Apt 2B. I had to go back for more, finding these throws, aren’t they the perfect pattern and colors for the room? A few of these are a necessity for the upcoming cool temperatures. LOL Even if I don’t use them to bundle up they are the perfect accessory for the sofa and chair, aren’t they?
My husband clearly rolled his eyes at that statement! Ha!
So, what do you think of the room? Would you be brave enough for a chartreuse sofa? Which item are you loving the most? Fill me in!
